All vacation home operators in Abu Dhabi have been urged to register their units on the new online system launched by the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi), in order to comply with regulations established last year.

The system, accessible through the website, is part of plans to improve and regulate the vacation home industry for the Abu Dhabi community, responding to increased demand for alternatives to established hotels and hotel apartments, said a press release issued by DCT- Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Requirements for operating vacation home rentals across the emirate came into effect last year following a decision by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The rules and regulations, which emphasize the importance of meeting the operating requirements of registered units, are also available to operators in a comprehensive manual.


“With the official launch of vacation home regulations announced last year, we are now encouraging vacation home operators to register their units in the Abu Dhabi Community Safety System,” Ali Al said. Shaiba, Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing at DCT Abu Dhabi.

“By taking this step, residents and visitors of Abu Dhabi can be assured that operators will be regulated transparently and to the highest standards and will benefit from a variety of accommodation options. We look forward to continuing. our collaboration with key partners and stakeholders on future initiatives to improve the experience of local residents and address important community issues. ”

In accordance with the decision of the Executive Council, the regulations ensure that operators maintain a high level of service for visitors when choosing their accommodation while offering a wide variety of options. Additionally, the rules ensure governance of business activity and protect high-quality vacation homes by supporting the maintenance of residential communities.

In developing the licensing system, DCT Abu Dhabi partnered with relevant government entities in the emirate including MCC, DMT, Civil Defense and AD Police.
