REVENUE is experiencing technical difficulties again today after extending its payment and deposit timeframe following issues with its online system yesterday.

The original deadline for deposits was last night.

However, Revenue said its online ROS system saw very high usage volumes yesterday, causing intermittent downtime for some users.

Between 3,000 and 4,000 returns were filed per hour throughout the morning yesterday.

Due to technical issues yesterday, the payment and deposit deadline has been extended to 6pm today.

However, Revenue confirmed this morning that its ROS system is “again having trouble.”

“Our technical team is working to resolve issues as quickly as possible,” Revenue said in a tweet.

Revenue has not confirmed whether the deadline will be extended again.

He did, however, confirm that a surcharge would not apply to any 2018 income tax returns filed online this week.
