Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) compliance staff will conduct virtual training on housing tax credit developments and how they operate after the federal compliance period ends. The virtual training will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. local Austin time on Thursday, March 24, 2022.
This training will focus on monitoring and inspection requirements for developments that have completed the first 15 years of their affordability period. All affordable housing owners, management staff and on-site staff who operate a development that has completed or is about to complete its federal compliance period are encouraged to attend. The course is taught by TDHCA compliance staff and will cover 10 TAC Section 10.623 monitoring procedures for housing tax credit properties after the compliance period.
The training will draw attention to the following points:
– Oversight and inspection changes that will occur once a property completes the federal compliance period
– Information contained in the Land Use Restriction Agreement (LURA) regarding requirements after the compliance period, complete schedule for the compliance period, and requirements for the full duration of the LURA
– Explanation of the duration of ownership after the initial compliance period of 15 years
