Course duration: 2 days (3 hours)

Sustainable solid waste management is one of the primary responsibilities of any municipal government. Local governments are expected to methodically and judiciously plan, implement and monitor all services regarding municipal solid waste management – from collection, treatment and treatment to disposal. But limited financial, technical and infrastructural resources mean that these local governments and cities are constantly stretched and under pressure.

As part of its continued collaboration with the Government of Tanzania and the people of Tanzania, the Center for Science and the Environment (CSE) announces a two-day online training program – exclusively designed for municipal officials and urban managers from Tanzania – on solid waste treatment, landfill management and landfill remediation. This training aims to strengthen institutional capacities and develop technical knowledge. Subject matter experts and solid waste management practitioners will accompany participants throughout the training program, which will largely focus on issues and concerns facing developing economies.

We look forward to the participation of Tanzanian municipal officials and fruitful interactions with them in this training.
