HEC and Huawei hold eight-day online ICT training for Pak students


ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (APP): The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Huawei Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd Pakistan will organize an eight-day online training for 30-40 outstanding Pakistani students in the field of ICT, tentatively at from September 26 From 2022 for a period of one week.

HEC and Huawei, in this regard, are calling for applications from prospective Pakistani students under the “Huawei Seeds for the Future Program 2022”.

According to the Deputy Director of Learning Opportunities Abroad Higher Education Commission Pakistan, under the thematic program, over the past 7 years, 130 students have been selected from universities across Pakistan by HEC and 55 of them have been sent by Huawei to China for a two-week culture training. and advancing ICT skills.
Like last year, due to Covid-19, HEC & Huawei has again planned to organize online training this year.

HEC Official informed that the deadline to apply for this program is September 18, 2022.

Selected students will be able to acquire valuable cutting-edge ICT knowledge (5G, Cloud, AI, etc.) developed by Huawei Headquarters and experience cross-cultural communication virtually. ??

As per the eligibility criteria, the applicant must be a Pakistani national/AJK and a permanent resident of Pakistan/AJK. Holders of dual nationality are not eligible.

The major disciplines/subjects of applicants should be such as Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Computing, Multimedia and Digital Arts, Software Engineering, information systems, computer engineering, electrical communications engineering, telecommunications engineering, electronics engineering, etc. .

Students who will be considered for online training include, but are not limited to, currently enrolled in the final year of ICT-related undergraduate degrees (four-year program only with semesters 6, 7, and 8) with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4.

Students who have completed their four years of ICT-related undergraduate degrees with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4 since summer 2021 are also eligible.

Students under the age of 24 at the closing date for applications, those who demonstrate excellent academic acumen, are fluent in English and have a keen interest in information and communication technology and related fields. related will also be considered for online training.

Students who have already taken this course in previous years are not eligible.

Selected students must have personal computer equipment and a strong internet connection, the official added.

Selected students must be available during online training sessions (from September 26, 2022 for a duration of one week).

Final selection will be based on academic excellence and the federal government. quota policy. In the event of final award, the selected candidates will not be able to withdraw.
Students are invited to apply through the HEC online application portal seedsprogramme.hec.gov.pk.

It is relevant to mention here that HEC reserves the right to conduct interviews with initially shortlisted candidates. Incomplete applications or applications registered on the HEC online portal will not be considered. The recommendation of the nominating agency, i.e. HEC, will be final and binding, he added. Hard copies of documents are not required.
