Gujarat: State to develop online system for reporting accidents at industrial sites


Gujarat government labor and employment department agents will soon benefit from a new online accident reporting system for timely and accurate reporting of accidents that occur in factories or construction sites.

The Industrial Safety and Health Directorate (DISH) operating under the Labor and Employment Department will develop an accident reporting system based on a web and mobile application and a GIS (Management Information System) which will allow the agents to fill in the information form, the main and detailed accident report. accident report, an official statement said here Wednesday.

A memorandum of understanding in this regard has been signed between Prime Minister Shah, director of DISH, and Ashok Panjawani, vice-president of the Shroff SR Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology (SRICT).

“This will be beneficial for the department and the industrial fraternity. DISH officials should be able to generate primary and detailed investigation reports, compensation and lawsuits, etc. Through this system, the department tracks these accidents and provides training and incident prevention advice to industry personnel, ”said Vipul Mittra, Additional Manager. secretary of the department.

Said system will be developed in PPP mode. Within one month of the system launch, it must be moved to the State Data Center (SDC). The source code will be the property of the Government of Gujarat (DISH) for which no additional cost will be borne by the government.

“SRICT will perform all services at no cost to DISH. Mittra added.

“This system also helps and monitors to speed up the process of compensation to be paid to the next of kin of the working poor who have lost their lives,” the official added.
