The Town of Oak Ridge Community Development Department announced on Tuesday that CityView, a new online connection for residents and builders, will launch in May.

“The new system will make it easier for our residents and builders to apply for and track their building permits,” said Wayne Blasius, director of community development for Oak Ridge, in a city press release. Release.

In order to submit building or planning permit applications, you will need to create a CityView account, the statement said. You can file code violation complaints without creating an account, but it is still recommended that you create an account.

Having a CityView account gives you 24 hour access to services and information. You can submit permit and planning applications online, check the status of a permit, download additional documents, or contact municipal staff. The portal allows you to pay the fees online. A supplement will be added. It will also allow you to view past, present, and pending requests, track the status of a code violation complaint, request and schedule inspections, and view inspection results.

All applicants are encouraged to submit their application online through the CityView portal. A computer for public use is located in front of the permit office so that staff can assist applicants in person. Full applications sent by mail are also accepted.
