Obtaining a development permit in Edmonds just got easier thanks to a new portal system that speeds up online application for a range of permits, including small projects like water heaters and patios, and even for some large projects. , like a new home. Online applications for other types of permits will be phased in over the next few weeks.
âThis approach will really make remote licensing easier, which is a huge problem during the COVID-19 crisis,â said Shane Hope, director of development services.
The new system is based on a partnership with MyPermisB̢timent.com, a regional non-profit organization. It allows people to get all types of building permits, get tip sheets, schedule inspections, view permit status Рand do it faster than ever before.
The system also helps permitting services share best practices, align building standards, and develop information to help residents and contractors.
âWe are delighted to live with MyPermisBâtiment.com, even when facing COVID-19 restrictions. »Said building manager Leif Bjorback. âThe benefits for our community will be great. “
